Last week our founder Karina Czapiewska joined fellow floating innovators from around the world to attend the World Urban Forum 10: Sustainable Floating Cities in Abu Dhabi.
The World Urban Forum (WUF) was established in 2001 by the United Nations to address one of the most pressing issues facing the world today: rapid urbanization and its impact on communities, cities, economies, climate change and policies. Convened by UN-Habitat, the Forum is a high level, open and inclusive platform for addressing the challenges of sustainable urbanization. The theme of this year’s forum was Sustainable Floating Cities; The next frontier for human settlements. It was another excellent opportunity for cutting-edge discussion with industry leaders to take bold steps towards the transition to more resilient and sustainable cities in the face of climate change and sea-level rise!
