Blue21’s Floating Pavilion Rotterdam was mentioned as ‘an example of transformative adaptation in urban areas’
The IPCC report Climate Change 2022: Impacts, Adaptation and Vulnerability which was published in the beginning of March 2022 once again proves how urgent and crucial it is for humanity to change course and adapt and transform our society in face of the global climate crisis. Cities are mentioned in the report as hotspots of climate impacts but also as places containing key opportunities to address climate change and adapt to the impacts. The IPCC reports also contains several references to floating urban development as adaptation opportunity.
